Parish Sedar Meal

Parish Seder Meal at Our Lady of Lourdes.  Jesus, the Lamb of God, celebrated the Last Supper at Passover time.  Participating in a Seder / Passover Liturgy [complete with the ritual foods, lamb and four cups of wine] helps us to understand the background for the institution of the Eucharist which we Catholics celebrate on Holy Thursday.

Our Seder Meal, a GIFT event, will be held at 5:30pm, Sunday, March 12th in OLLs Activity Center.  The donation will be $10 per adult and $6 per child under 12.  Non-alcoholic grape juice will be available.  The number of participants will be limited to 150 persons since food must be ordered ahead of time.  Signup Sheets will be available in the parish office (620-231-2135).  For further information, please call Gary or Fran McGrath 620-231-5410.  Please join us in making the Seder Meal part of your Lenten observance.

Registration forms are available for download below.

Confirmation 2017

The sacrament of Confirmation impresses a character and by it the baptized, continuing
on the path of Christian initiation, are enriched by the gift of the Holy Spirit and
bound more perfectly to the Church; it strengthens them and obliges them more firmly to
be witnesses to Christ by word and deed and to spread and defend the faith (Canon Law, CIC can. 879).

Confirmation will be celebrated on Thursday, March 9 at 6:30pm with Bishop Karl Kemme.

While preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, students are required to:
  1. Attend the classes of preparation and the retreat (schedule is listed below)
  2. Choose a sponsor for themselves (a Catholic who is actively practicing their faith*)
  3. Continue to grow in their understanding and practice of their own faith.
*We will discuss with the students in our first classes what to consider in choosing both a sponsor for themselves as well as a Confirmation name. They will be expected to choose their sponsor by Feb 19th.

Adoration Hours

Christ the King Adoration Chapel, located at the southwest corner of 9th and Locust,  provides an opportunity for quiet prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament from 6:00 a.m. Mondays through 5:00  p.m. Fridays.  Our desire is to have two adorers at each Holy Hour.  There are lots of times availabe for you to commit one hour of prayer weekly and the first page of the parish bulletin lists times that we need adorers.  This is a wonderful way to renew your prayer life and build a relationship with Jesus Christ. Please consider giving an hour a week.  For more information, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
